ATHLETICS:
PARENTS/ STUDENTS - NOVEMBER 12TH WILL BE THE OFFICIAL START OF THE WINTER SPORTS. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PHYSICAL IS UP TO DATED, ALL PAPERWORK IS TURNED IN TO MRS. SACK AND ALL FEES PAID TO MRS. STEVENS. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO START PRACTICE!!!!

GOOD LUCK TO MR. KENDALL, MRS. WRIGHT AND THE FFA GROUP ON THEIR TRIP TO NATIONAL CONVENTION IN LOUISVILLE KENTUCKY.

DRAMA:
"BAREFOOT IN THE PARK" PLAY  -  NOVEMBER 13TH, 14TH AND 15TH - 7:00PM

LOAVES AND FISHES FOOD BANK:
This is the 6th year that the WCHS Athletic Department has worked with Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry for a canned food drive. For the remainder of  all home Football games we will be collecting any donations.
- Bring 2 cans of food and receive one dollar off admissions.
- Bring 4 cans of food and receive two dollars of admissions.
- Or bring 20 or more cans to receive Free Admissions.
It's a Win, Win all the way around!!!!!

COACH SMIALEK - GIRLS BASKETBALL:
Girls basketball open gyms/work outs are Monday @2:00-3:30 and Thursdays @3:30-5:00pm in aux gym/weight room.  There will also be a mandatory meeting next week. Look and  listen for details about this mandatory meeting or contact Coach Smialek! Our season officially starts Nov. 12, 2014!!! 

COACH METTLER - BOYS BASKETBALL:
BOYS BASKETBALL open gyms / work out are Monday @ 2:00 - 3:30pm.
There will be a Mandatory players meeting on Wednesday, November 5th @ 3:30PM, if  you are planning on playing basketball this year you must attend.  Try outs are Nov. 12th and 13th.

COACH SCHELLENBERG/WRESTLING:
Wrestling practice begins November 12th after school.  All paperwork/physical/fees must be taken care of before hand.  Required equipment: wrestling shoes, running shoes, clean workout clothes (short or long sleeve t-shirt and shorts) If a student athlete wears braces, a mouthpiece covering both top and bottom teeth is required.  Headgear is optional for practice but required for matches. Headgear can be supplied if needed.  Attendance at the first practice is mandatory for anyone wanting to be on the team.  

 COACH SAMPSON/ GIRLS TENNIS:
Any students interested in being on the Girl’s Tennis team this year please contact Coach Sampson at: gregorysampson@re3j.com. No experience necessary to play and you can participate in tennis and other activities at the same time. There will be a meeting in January and the season will start February 23, 2015.

COACH PEREZ:
Tracksters:  Make sure you bring in your food bank donations into Coach Perez’s room before the 14th.  Let’s help our local community during this holiday season.

COACH WILLIAMS:
Attention all volleyball players, there will be a very short meeting Thursday after school in the library. Bus riders, you will make it to the bus so please stop by the library before you head outside. 

Volleyball banquet has been moved to Nov. 10th at 6 pm at Pinocchio’s in Brighton. Please give Mrs. Williams your RSVP with the number of people coming by Monday, 11/3. Payment due to Mrs. Williams by Wednesday 11/5. See Mrs. Williams if you have any questions. 

STUDENTS: WE HAVE EXTRA PLANNERS IN THE FRONT OFFICE IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED - THE  COST IS $ 5.00.

MRS. P. AMEN:
The Colorado Blue Spruce Reading Award starts today, Sept. 16th. It will run till December 16th.. Last year the high school beat the middle school. Please stop in and check out this year’s book nominees. Help the high school win again by reading/ voting for your favorite books. Thank you for your support.

MR. HALL:
“Attention all students who have a brain and a pulse: Weld Central wants YOU to join speech & debate club. The first meeting of the varsity season will be this Thursday, October 30th, at 3:30 in room 103. If you can’t make that, we’ll have meetings Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings at 7:30. If you like speaking, being awesome, and not being unawesome, join this club! Remember, Thursday, 3:30, in room 103.”

Yearbook Senior Salutes/Baby Ads
Senior Parents,
Senior Salutes or Baby Ads are the perfect way to let your senior know how much they are loved and cared for. Your senior salute will be printed in the yearbook and remembered forever.  By purchasing space in the yearbook you can tell them how special they are with your own pictures and words.Making your salute is simple.  Tell us the size you would like, include pictures, what you would like your senior salute to say, and attach payment. Return this information to Mrs. Chestnut before December 19, 2014.  If you have any questions contact Mrs. Chestnut at 303-536-2180 or email me at debrachestnut@re3j.com. Specific information can be found on the link to “Senior Salutes” on the high school website, and in the current School Newsletter found there as well.

Seniors:  Senior Salutes for in the yearbook are due from your parents by December 19, 2014.  Please share this information with your parents.  Specific information can be found on the high school website.

Seniors, please be aware the scholarships list under counseling on the high school webpage is updated continuously. Please be checking and applying for these national, state and local scholarships. The eligibility criteria and deadlines are listed as well as links to the applications.
